With a background in applied economics and tourism, my research focuses on different aspects of visitor management. My main interest lies in understanding and remedying market failures as they appear in the tourism sector, in order to improve the sustainability of a destination.
As a lecturer, my current teaching assignments include Tourism Heritage & Culture, Tourism Planning & Development, Tourism Information & Research, and Contemporary Topics in Tourism. In the past I also taught Tourist Behaviour and Business Strategy & Innovation.
When I’m not studying or teaching tourism, I enjoy being a tourist as much as anyone. Because every new discovery holds the promise of a new mystery and a new area to explore.
